For students
Answer questions that fit your starting point. Where your school requests a document later, use your account to supply a fresh capture and complete any remaining current fields. My Journey shows the next relevant step.
A first-time learner, permit holder and licensed refresher student should not see the same form. RouteOS uses the student’s starting point and school location to ask for the information needed at that stage, then keeps later requirements visible to the office.
State and stage shape the next questions.
Follow two illustrative students in supported New York and New Jersey paths. The information changes with jurisdiction, age, entry point and current step; the office can see what was declared, what was reviewed and what is still needed.
At booking, a ZIP Code routes to an eligible school location. The student chooses a state-supported starting point, such as permit preparation, an existing permit, completed prerequisites, a retest or licensed refresher practice. RouteOS saves that entry point with the customer journey, so later bookings use the same relevant stage.
Every supported path collects date of birth. A student entering with a permit is asked for the applicable state permit; licensed refresher practice uses current license details. A student without a permit is not asked to upload one. Where document capture applies, recognized values become editable suggestions and missing required fields appear for completion.
The office sees the Student Information record, source and review history. A student-entered value or scanned photo is a declaration; authorized staff review evidence where verification matters. New York and New Jersey use separate policy fields: New York can call for pre-licensing and junior-driver evidence, while New Jersey follows its knowledge, vision and supervised-practice path.
The customer workspace connects contact information, journey, readiness, lesson history, purchases and available contract or course evidence. New York requires a current student record with contact details, service date and time, instructor, and contract and receipt references; New Jersey requires inspectable student records. Staff can use the DMV Audit view to review what is present and identify missing evidence before an inspection.
Illustrative example. Explore each step to see how the workflow connects. This demonstration does not change any school records.

See Required now, Needed later and Optional fields in the selected location’s record. Review evidence, correct facts with a dated activity trail and use readiness or DMV Audit views to find gaps.
Work with the lesson and student context permitted by your role. Record appointment outcomes so the student’s progress and service history reflect what the school actually completed.
The implemented state packs ask for different learner, course and road-test evidence. New York’s pre-licensing and junior certification are not copied into a New Jersey record; New Jersey’s knowledge, vision and BA-CSD path is not treated as a New York requirement.
Student facts retain their source, location, timestamps and review state in an encrypted profile. The DMV Audit view connects available lesson, purchase, payment, contract and course evidence, while clearly identifying missing integrations and unverified information.
The supported policy packs are specific to noncommercial passenger paths in New York and New Jersey. Your school remains responsible for current state rules, approved forms, required retention, original signatures and final inspection or test-day checks.
No. The selected school state, starting point and live stage determine current fields and document type. A no-permit entry does not ask for a permit, a permit-holder path asks for that state’s permit, and licensed refresher practice asks for current license information.
No. A scan can suggest values, but it does not prove identity, physical possession or staff verification. The record keeps student-supplied, imported and staff-reviewed evidence distinct.
No. RouteOS helps collect and review supported student facts and connected records. Each school must keep its full required records, approved contracts and receipts, original course documents where required, and the applicable retention and inspection process.
The current student journey and readiness packs support New York and New Jersey. A school location in another state needs a reviewed policy pack before RouteOS can make state-specific readiness decisions.
